Tonight I am heading out to Montreal with the boyfriend. It’s been some time since our last vacay together (I think our last trip was to Jackson Hole, WY when there was still snow!) and we are going to celebrate our anniversary.
I’m so excited as I’ve been itching to travel. But there’s still A LOT of stuff that needs to be taken care of before I leave! I feel like I’m back during finals week in college. I used to stay up all night studying (well, cramming) for my exams, take them, shove all my laundry in my luggage and clonk out on my flight back to SF from NY. By the time I woke up and came back to my senses, I realized where I was. Oh the good old days.
Either way, this is a MUCH NEEDED vacay. I’ve been craving to see / experience / be inspired by something new. And travel, my friends, is the BEST way to do that.
It’s not my first time in Canada but my first time in Montreal. I’ve heard only good things so really looking forward to it. I haven’t had much time to actually plan out our itinerary. Oops! I’m not too worried since I’m no stranger to traveling “unprepared.” Having traveled during my study abroad in Italy, I’ve found that the best way to travel is with no plan at all. When you get to the airport, go to the travel / info desk (Yes! Those things you always speed walk by?! They are actually useful!) and ask for a map and their recommendations. EASY!
For this trip we are using Airbnb. Have you used them before? Super excited to rent an entire home / loft and stay as if we really live in Montreal. It’ll really make me feel like I am a local rather than a tourist.
Follow me on instagram and I’ll keep you posted on my travel.
Have a good weekend!
